So I didn't know about it until now, but when I read through all the posts on it, yeah the whole thing stank to heaven and it did seem like a time to look for an alternative to LJ. What have I been up to?
Work's busy (as always!) and eats too much of my time.
Am more freeish now since I'm waiting for the results for Tax (my professional paper) before starting the next one.
Am looking forward to a shopping trip/vacation planned roughly in the 3rd week of June.
Uh, well, my life is pretty boring... heh heh.
I realise that I put off a lot of things I mean to do for later because of the work load, lack of time, just plain tired, etc. And all of those constrains will always be there. And I don't want to leave this world with regrets and the sense of having lived half a life.
So, I resolve to:
- be less of a lurker
- read and write more
- live the moment to its fullest |

Am editing the contents of a presentation for tax law tomorrow. Have discovered that when 1 of my group mates asked for the soft copy of my part, it was not so she could read it over and check if I got anything wrong (which I was expecting her to do). Instead, she lifted parts of it wholesale and applied it to her question blindly, even though it is not relevant for the situation. Gaaaahhh! *Head desk* Laziness or stupidity? And she's considered one of the more "responsible" ones. How about the irresponsible ones then? Am now rewriting it or more accurately, redoing it. I foresee no sleep tonight. Sometimes I wonder why I keep cleaning up other people's problems, I put it down to my finicky anal retentiveness. |

Was thinking about boggarts recently and got to wondering... if there's a monster/creature that shows your greatest fear to you, what about a monster/creature that tempts you with your heart's desire? Not a succubus per say, they seem sort of tempting only in a sexual way, but a mythical creature that offers you your heart's desire in order to lure you close... and devour you! A genie? Doesn't seem that threatening... and thought that they were bound in some way? Anyone have any ideas? |

Cunning. Through use of many of life's faculties,
you've managed to suceed greatly. It may not
seem so to many, but isn't the the point most
times? It's only a matter of knowing more then
the others, right? I'm scared of people like
you, but in the same time, admire the ability
to see more then just the big picture; you see
yourself in it every time. You survived the end
by knowing who to knock down so you got that
last spot in the bunker... nicely done.

:) Finally got to know that livejournal doesn't require invites anymore... which makes it easier for new users to get one... and there'll probably be a large influx of new journals too... :P Am rambling 'cos I'm tired... just finished work a few hours ago.
Have a great respect now for those people who interact daily with other people as part of their daily work routine... and can keep a pleasant face and disposition when dealing with all kinds of demanding and obnoxious personalities.
I'm working during the holidays in the accommodation department of my uni... gods... save me from demanding, overprotective, paranoid parents... with an arrogant prima donna sort of attitude.
I do meet some really nice people... but there are the horrors too, of course. Well, heck, at least it's an 'experience'. ^_^
The downside is that I'm too tired too work on my fic... which has been in limbo of a sorts ever since my computer crashed multiple times earlier this year... I also need a new beta... I do have a few chapters written but not posted at all... Am crossing my fingers and hoping to get them out, beta or no beta... by Feb '04. Am really sorry I kept people waiting for so long... :) but I do have a real life too.
A more complete version of my HP fic, 'What do you mean I'm a girl?!' is up on Fiction Alley. The version on Ff.net is missing Chap 6. Will update it when I update the new chapters.
Am now toodling off to find out how I can do all kinds of cool effects to my posts... I know it's possible... I just don't know how... heh. |
